When Is The Best Time To Sell Your Home?

It’s a good time to sell your home now!

The most recent National Housing Survey has indicated that Americans are feeling more confident about their employment situation and more optimistic about home pricing and interest rates. The numbers are showing a very encouraging trend: A record survey high of 42 percent of survey respondents now say that this is a good time to sell a home.

April was the third month in which the positive outlook for selling a home has been on the rise, thus the overall climate is looking very good. This is especially notable since the majority of buyers in today’s market need to first sell their current home before they can buy a new one.

Another interesting facet of the survey was that 69 percent of respondents said that it is currently a good time to buy a new home. This percentage matches the last survey’s numbers. When taken together with the “good time to sell” numbers, it indicates that people are feeling more confident about both buying and selling homes than they have in a long time.

To get the biggest cross section of potential home buyers and sellers, the National Housing Survey did include both renters and homeowners. Fannie Mae was the sponsor of the survey, which was conducted in the first three weeks of April 2014. 1,000 United States residents were interviewed via phone to gather survey results. Overall results do appear to indicate that home ownership, especially moving up to a new home via the sale of the old one, is becoming more popular again thanks to the better economy.
